Serve God Where You Are
Welcome to Catholics for Migrants
The first catholic website for migrants, itinerant workers, travelers, international students. We stand by you and for you migrants out there. Here at Catholics for Migrants responding to the call of the Catholic Church to provide pastoral care for migrants, “although you may be in a foreign land, you will always find a home in every Catholic Church and you will be welcomed fully into spiritual life of the Church no matter where you are.” have embarked on this journey to provide migrants a home in the world wide web where we can pray together, for all our intentions, to offer words of encouragements, offer a sounding board for our soul to speak out what it yearns for to make and feel free to pray out loud our hidden fears, our problems, concerns, our wishes, together, we will pray for our intentions and petitions.
The hardest cross to bear is the one that can't be shared:
But we, migrants, can pray to Jesus and say “ Jesus, you know how it is”. Yes, when Mary and Joseph fled to Egypt from Bethlehem with their infant son Jesus, to escape the madness of Herod, they were in constant fear that someone might find out and report them. Jesus has become really “like one of us”.
We understand the difficulties, because we are all migrants here at Catholics For Migrants. The burden is heavy on our backs, we who have to leave home and migrate to another country to provide the necessities for ourselves and families. For those who migrate to become permanent resident in another country, adjusting to a new culture of diversity, language, and separation from family, is sometimes daunting. For those who migrate without immigration documents, we recognize your situation and understand the feeling of isolation, fear, helplessness and anxiety.
Catholics for Migrants clearly expresses its purpose; and you have found it because your soul yearns to find it. St Ignatius wrote that "if in a certain point the soul finds what it desires, it shall not proceed further until it is fully satisfied." You have found a place in the internet where you can pray out loud without judgment.
NO JUDGEMENT
Here at Catholics for Migrants, there is no judgment. Let us not judge and leave the judgment to God. Only God knows the state of our soul at any given time. We cannot look into it, no matter how good we are in judging people and characters, the transparency of our soul is only open to God. He, who is without sin, let him casts the first stone. Here at Catholics for Migrants, we constantly try to look at Jesus as "the author and finisher of our faith" ( Heb.12:2). God's justice and holiness is infinite. So is his mercy. Our anxiety, which tortures our soul, is changed into sorrowful love, which spurs us on to generosity and compassion especially when we walk the same road, we can empathized, we can understand, we can offer prayers for others like us migrants in a more contrite and compassionate heart
We ask the intercession of St Frances Xavier Cabrini, the Patron Saint of Migrants to intercede for all the travellers in the world. And we beseech Our Lady of Rosary, our benefactor to protect us and fill our hearts with her maternal love whenever we feel empty, frustrated, homesick, and over loaded with the demands of our life in another country and the expectations of our families back home.
Catholics for Migrants is but a means to an end, and that is to serve God where we, we are all pilgrims in this world, since we all journey together to the kingdom that awaits us, until such time as we are home. Heaven is home.
